Commander-in-Chief Welcome

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW), Colorado Springs Chapter website! We are a patriotic, nonpartisan, Veterans Service Organization (VSO) dedicated to promoting patriotism, civic responsibility, public service, and leadership in our nation’s communities. MOWW was founded at the suggestion of General of the Armies John J. "Blackjack" Pershing in 1919 to promote good citizenship, patriotic education, and military and public service. The purpose of our Order is found in the nine tenets described in our Preamble.   Click to read.

Our motto is, “It is nobler to serve than to be served.”

Our chapter, one of seventy-six nationwide, provides opportunities to support youth patriotic education, college ROTC and high school JROTC, Scouting, First Responders, and national and homeland security programs. We inculcate and stimulate love of our country and flag, and the concept of service before self. We have monthly membership meetings featuring speakers who address these various topics. The premier activity for our chapter is the week-long Rocky Mountain Youth Leadership Conference, held in June at a college campus in Pueblo or Colorado Springs. The Conference goal is to develop good, informed citizens in the areas of leadership, patriotism, and the free enterprise system. Each year about one hundred soon-to-be high school seniors primarily from Denver to Pueblo, nominated by their schools, participate in this program at no cost. This requires significant funding and volunteers to run the program. For further information, go to: .

Please consider joining our organization to help the Colorado Springs community and those who serve it, our nation’s youth/future leaders, and veterans residing in Colorado Springs. Eligibility is open to active duty, retired and former commissioned or warrant officers of the uniformed services of the United States, including the United States Public Health Service, and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. Family members who are directly related to eligible officers and relatives (i.e., spouse, son/stepson, daughter/stepdaughter, grandson and/or granddaughter) are also eligible as Hereditary Members. Click here for Membership Application. It requires a signature by a sponsoring member. Please contact me if you are interested in joining at the following e-mail address:

I invite you to attend one of our meetings to get to know our members and learn more about this unique and worthwhile organization! If you have any questions about our chapter, feel free to contact me.
